      Y5 and their parents enjoyed an evening of hot chocolate and stargazing last week. Despite the clouds and drizzly rain, the children enjoyed sharing their work and using a stargazing app to consolidate their learning about space.

    • Year 6 PGL - Windmill Hill

      Pupils from Year 6 had a fantastic time during their yearly trip to Windmill Hill. Throughout the week, we tackled abseiling, zip-lines, archery and the trapeze. All children had a super time and we are looking forward to next year already!

      Y3 had a wonderful day at Highdown Gardens yesterday. They managed to dodge the rain showers and spend time developing their awe and wonder at the nature around them. Thank you to 'Southdowns for All' for supporting with finance of the coach.

      Year 5 travelled through the galaxy when the Planetarium visited this month. They enjoyed learning about the stars, planets and moons. They were able to spot constellations linked to their work on the Ancient Greeks.

      Year 2 had amazing fun re-enacting the events of the Great Fire of London last week. The theatre company were so impressed with their knowledge and the children enjoyed taking on roles with the actors.

    • Y3 Visit to Highdown Hill and Gardens!

      Year 3 had a wonderful visit to Highdown Gradens, a hidden gem in Sussex. They learned about chalk based land and the unique plants that grow there, drew some plants and walked to the top of Highdown Hill. From the top we could see the sea and the Isle of Wight to our right, then the white cliffs of Birling Gap to our left. Upon the hill were significant areas of the past with fascinating stories of the past including John Oliver, a miller but also a smuggler!

    • Year 6 Junior Citizen Event

      Junior Citizen, an event which teaches children life skills and how to stay safe, has taken place for the 30th time this year.

      The long-running event, held at The Hawth, is organised by Crawley Borough Council for more than 1,500 year 6 students in the town.

      Junior Citizen gives children advice on how to safely deal with potential dangers in a fun way using interesting scenarios with the aim of the children retaining the information

      The fortnight long event deals with lots of topics including: 

      • Electrical safety
      • Public health
      • The consequences of crime
      • Personal safety
      • Fire safety and hoax calls
      • Water safety at the seaside
      • Reducing water use
      • Waste and the environment

The children were so excited to hear all about the amazing books they can read over the Summer Holidays and how they can get involved.
